What happened

In late July 2026, a short night-time video from Araulí, a community in the municipality of Danlí in Honduras’s El Paraíso department, spread across Honduran social media. It shows a figure that seems to be draped in white moving slowly into a yard, pausing and then leaving.

Honduran broadcaster HCH posted a 46-second version on YouTube on 29 July under a headline that asks whether it is an “optical illusion or a mischievous spirit” (“espíritu chocarrero”). Its description says the video “ha generado sorpresa entre los pobladores de Araulí” (has surprised residents of Araulí) and credits the footage as “Video cortesía.”

On 31 July, Coast to Coast AM picked it up, describing “a figure draped in white slowly shuffling into view, lingering for a few seconds, and then exiting the area.”

What believers claim

Viewers who see something paranormal describe a slow, gliding white form that matches traditional Latin American ghost lore, a spirit that wanders yards at night. Coast to Coast AM noted that opinions fell “largely falling into two camps.” HCH’s headline offers “espíritu chocarrero,” a mischievous or poltergeist-like spirit, as one of them.
