The Ghost Blimp L-8, 1942: A Navy Airship Came Home With Nobody Aboard
On 16 August 1942 the Navy blimp L-8 left Treasure Island with two officers aboard, reported an oil slick off the Farallones, and hours later sagged into a Daly City street with its gondola empty. The two men were never found.
