PURSUE Release 07: 28 Unresolved UAP Files (23 Oct 2026)
OFFICIAL FILES · Released 23 Oct 2026. These are U.S. government records published at war.gov/ufo. Incident years: 1949 to 2026. Redacted Weekly archives them as public-domain government works.
On 23 Oct 2026, the Department of War posted Release 07 of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) at https://www.war.gov/ufo/. The release page lists 28 records: 28 PDF (PDF = document, VID = video, IMG = image, AUD = audio). The bulk downloads offered on the page were documents (325 MB) and videos (none).
What PURSUE says these are: the program page says “The materials archived here are unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena. This can occur for a variety of reasons, including a lack of sufficient data.” So no record in this release is an official finding of anything extraordinary. The government simply could not explain them with the data it had.
Who supplied the files: Department of War (25), FBI (1), Executive Office of the President (1), U.S. Government (1).
Where they happened: the most common listed locations are Las Vegas, Nevada (8), Catalina Island, California (4), Western United States (2), Alaska (2), Washington, D.C. (2), Saudi Arabia (1).
Highlights picked by the Department of War
The database marks some records as “Featured.” Where fewer than three are flagged, we added the earliest incident, a video and a non-DoW record. Here are up to four from this release, with the official description quoted rather than paraphrased:
DOW-UAP-D155, Air Intelligence Information Report, Saudi Arabia, 1957
Incident: 1/18/1957, Saudi Arabia · Department of War
Official description (quoted from the PURSUE database): “This document is an Air Intelligence Information Report (AIIR), a standardized U.S. Air Force reporting form used to record raw information of potential intelligence value for later analysis. The form served as a primary vehicle for U.S.”
DOW-UAP-D174, Utah Ranch Investigation Report, April 2010
Incident: March, April 2010, Las Vegas, Nevada · Department of War
Official description (quoted from the PURSUE database): “This document is an administrative, programmatic, or contractor-produced record related to the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)-administered program active from 2008 to 2012. AAWSAP’s official scope of work identified 12 technical research areas relating to potential aerospace threats over a time horizon of more than 40 years. As part of the broader program record, the file documents how AAWSAP was scoped, organized, tasked, funded, executed, or described at a particular point in time.”
DOW-UAP-D176, Triangular UAP AARO Memorandum for Record, 2026
Incident: June, 2026, Western United States · Department of War
Official description (quoted from the PURSUE database): “This document is a memorandum for record documenting an AARO witness debrief concerning reported unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) observations at a sensitive national security site in the western United States over two days in 2026. AARO considers this incident to warrant further investigation due to the close alignment of the phenomena’s reported morphological features and kinematic profiles with those of other reported incidents in the western United States region. The memorandum records an interview with two Federal Special Agents and incorporates a corroborating account from a third official positioned at a separate observation post.”
DOW-UAP-D177, Unresolved UAP Report, Catalina Island, 1955
Incident: 3/15/1955, Catalina Island, California · Department of War
Official description (quoted from the PURSUE database): “The file contains a report by Paul J. Carr of Avalon, California, who reported observing a bright orange object, approximately the size of a nickel held at arm’s length, on the evening of March 15, 1955. The provisional assessment associated with the report includes a comment from the preparing officer that the sighting is possibly astronomical, and that the incident did not warrant further investigation.”
