What happened

On 18 May 2026 at 14:38, Telediario Laguna published a story by Dulce Fraire on a video circulating on social media. Telediario says the video seems to show “una misteriosa figura vestida de blanco de pie en uno de sus balcones principales” (a mysterious figure dressed in white standing on one of its main balconies) at the Casa del Cerro, one of Torreón’s best-known buildings.

According to Telediario, the clip was recorded on 16 May 2026 by “un ciudadano” (a member of the public) who was walking home and felt like filming the famous house. Only later, reviewing the footage, did he notice “una silueta clara” (a pale silhouette) standing out against the mansion. The video was shot from the “sector poniente”, the west side.

Video evidence: Telediario hosts the clip on its own video page (18 May 2026, 14:32 by the page’s timestamp). The page doesn’t name the uploader or give the clip’s length, and the original social media post hasn’t been identified. Timeline

  • 1856: Federico Wulff, the engineer and architect who later built the house, is born in San Antonio, Texas (Wikipedia, citing local histories).
  • 1901: Wulff buys a steep hill facing Torreón’s railway station to build a family home.
  • Late 1904: the Wulff family moves in. Telediario’s 2018 piece says the house was known as the “casa Chalet” by 1905.
  • 1910–1917: the house is rented to the U.S. government as a consulate during the Revolution. The family returns in 1917 and sells in 1924.
  • 1994: the house becomes a museum, per Telediario 2018 and Wikipedia.
  • October 2018: Telediario publishes “Aterrador: captan a mujer fantasma en la Casa del Cerro de Torreón (FOTO)”. A museum guide tells the “mujer de blanco” legend.
  • 16 May 2026 (Saturday): the passer-by records the video.
  • 18 May 2026: Telediario publishes the video (14:32) and the story (14:38).
  • July 2026: the clip goes viral again. Azteca Laguna publishes an explainer on 21 July.
  • 4 Nov 2026: we rechecked. There’s still no official statement, and the original post hasn’t been identified.

What believers claim

The house has a ghost story ready-made. In 2018, Telediario reported that the house “guarda místicas leyendas, entre ellas la de la mujer de blanco que camina por los jardínes” (holds mystical legends, among them that of the woman in white who walks the gardens). Museum guide Rosabelia Ríos told the story of one of the original owner’s daughters, who fell in love with a gardener the family drove away. Guides said they had heard countless stories but believed only one: “la mujer de blanco”. For believers, a pale figure on the balcony fits the legend.

What the research found

The source is thin. Telediario’s report says the events “presuntamente” (allegedly) took place on 16 May and is based on a clip shared on social media. The filmer isn’t named, and his original account isn’t linked. That rules out checking the uncut file, its metadata or the exact time.
